Colorful activities to welcome the New Year and celebrate the Lantern Festival

In order to carry out Chinese traditional culture and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of students, the School of Energy&Environment hold a series of activities such as cutting window flowers, writing couplets, joint photos with couplets, making decorations and lanterns with the theme of "Striving for a New Journey and Continuing to Write a New Chapter", to help students experience the characteristics of Chinese traditional culture and seize this wave of New Year's taste.

"Cute Rabbit Paper Cutting to Welcome the Year of the Rabbit, Looking forward to the New Year" activity

Paper cutting only needs a pair of scissors and some red paper. The paper rotates with the cut, and the heart moves with the paper. The students used superb paper-cutting skills to depict the picture of "welcoming spring" and "a 'rabbit' bright future", a small piece of thin paper, showing a variety of colors under skillful hands. Among them, Li Ke, Class 211 of Water Supply and Drainage, "cut out a lotus flower", which means auspicious and safe, moral integrity, happiness and well-being, and auspiciousness.

Pen and Ink Love Letter Spring Intention" activity

As the old saying goes, thousands of households on the day, always exchange new peaches for old charm. The couplet is a treasure of Chinese traditional culture, and the students actively participated, writing Spring Festival blessings one by one, and experiencing the excitement of the ancients when facing the New Year. They look at the Spring Festival couplets written by their own hands on the door of their homes, as if the taste of the New Year was more wormer.

"Tanning My New Year" online exhibition event

As the poem says, phoenix presents auspicious dragons to present auspiciousness, red peach greets the New Year and apricot welcomes spring. In the sharing of exquisite couplets, we feel the students' longing and yearning for a better life, their identification and pride in traditional culture. At the same time, they also experienced the unique style of Chinese calligraphy.

Themed lantern display event

As the poem says, the lights and fireworks connecting the Tianhe River seem to be falling stars, and the moon seems to hang in the air by the lights of the tall buildings. The students independently designed and made lanterns, among which Bai Haofan, a student of Water Supply and Drainage Class 211, integrated the elements of ink landscape, showing the unique beauty of traditional Chinese art. The students used their works to show the unique vitality and creativity of young people, and showed the charm of traditional festivals.

The students welcome the Spring Festival through this activity, highlighting the responsibility and deeds of young students in inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and rushing into a new journey and writing a new chapter with youth and vitality.
